August Week 2 Sketch at Let's Get Sketchy

Here is my take on their sketch:

The blue background paper is DCWV The Summer Days stack.  The other papers are all from my scraps.  The flowers are Recollections.  The title is from DCWV The Jewel stack.  The picture is of my daughter and myself enjoying the Twilight Marathon at the theater.

Finally back to scrapping!!

I have completed 3 layouts so far today:

 These papers are by Authentic that a friend sent to me.  The beads are ZVA Creative.  The flowers and ribbon are Michaels.  The tag is We R Memory Keepers.  The pictures are of my daughter when she was a baby.

 The background paper is DCWV The Jewel Stack.  The other papers are from my scrap box.  I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink Picked Raspberry.  The picture is of my daughter (center) and her two friends waiting to see the Twilight Marathon.

The school had enough young men to have a Men's Choir this past year.  They did a great job.  The papers are Recollections Joyful Christmas.

Productive Day!!

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I last posted.  I have been very busy with my grandchildren this month.  Today I was able to get my mojo flowing and finished some things.  Here they are:

Rock it - Challenge for Let's Get Sketchy

This is  picture of my grandson opening the guitar we got him for his birthday.  He was so excited that it played different songs.  The papers were all scraps.  The title alphas are Thickers.  The small words are K&Company (I think).  I used a white gel pen to stitch around the circles and the solid red piece.

Christmas Layout

Good evening!!  I can't believe how fast this month is going.  I have been busy working, helping with the mowing and was selected to be on a quality improvement team at work which means MORE work and classes.  I finally was able to scrap tonight.  Here is my latest creation.  Thanks so much for looking and your comments!!

Say It With Words Challenge at Colorful Creations

This is for the Say it With Words Challenge at Colorful Creations.  This month's word is blessed:


Details:  The background papers are DCWV The Bella Armoire Stack.  The blue mats are DCWV Creamy Cardstock Stack.  The title is Thickers.  I used my white signo pen to faux stitch around the title block.  The pictures are of my grandfather's 90th birthday party in 2012.  We ate at his favorite fish place.

Embossing with aluminum foil challenge

At Colorful Creations, there is a challenge to emboss aluminum foil and use it on a project.  I chose to make a Valentine's card as my project:


Details:  Everything I used is from scraps.  I used a Sizzix "small dots" texture plate for the embossing on the aluminum foil.  I used AC Special Papers Valentine foil to cover the chipboard heart from Oriental Trading.

Details:  The only thing I added to this beautiful paper was the picture, title and bow.  The picture is of my sister, my grandfather (90) and myself at my aunt's house for Christmas.  The title was sent to me by a friend.  The bow is from some funky thread from Paper Studios.  The paper is Recollections Memories Never Melt stack.

Happy new year everyone!!  Sorry I have been MIA.  My husband has had some serious health issues which needed my attention more than my blog.  I am happy to be back and hope to be a better blog in 2013.
